A Finely Etched Line

The exhibits are truly one of a kind on loan from the State Pushkin Museum, the Historical Museum, the Ostankino Museum Estate, the Arkhangelskoye Museum Estate, the Kuskovo Museum of Ceramics, the Tri Veka Gallery and the Karisalov family collection from St Petersburg.

A special place is devoted to the furniture that belonged to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin’s close friends. For instance, it features a table with curved legs that a grandfather of Pushkin’s wife Natalya Goncharova had ordered for the parlour.

Art patron Mikhail Karisalov gifted a letter written by Russian writer Ivan Turgenev to Pushkin’s younger daughter, Natalya Merenberg, to the Ivan Turgenev Museum in Ostozhenka Street.
