Museum "Russian Valenki"

Various models are represented in the museum: starting with embroidered valenki of the end of the 19th century up to felt boots which Russian sportsmen - participants of the Olympiad of 2002 - had on them.

    Fuller - in the past that was a craftsman highly respected in Rus, and his skills have century-deep roots. Knowledge of methods and tools of manual felting, stages of industrial production of felted footwear and watching of a video-film enable to trace the route of valenki birth from a clump of fleece up to finished commodity.

    At present valenki are taking back love to them on the part of citizens, and for designers and modellers they constitute a real object of creativity. The results of artists' imagination can also be found in the museum.

    It is warm and convenient in the museum like it is in valenki. Welcome!
