Russian Winter exhibition at Kuzminki

The exhibition will present paintings and drawings by modern artists Ivan Kirillov and Maria Podkopayeva, as well as everyday items including winter clothes from various regions of Russia. Winter peasant clothes from the end of the 19th century will be shown in Moscow for the first time.

Winter in Russia is a unique phenomenon, which reflects on the national character as well as history, culture and everyday life. It is a special season filled with holidays and household chores. Almost every day on the winter calendar has its own belief with which people try to forecast the upcoming summer. Hundreds of Russian poets, writers and artists praise the winter in their works.

The exhibition will be open through 21 January 2018 at the northern building of the Horse Courtyard at Vlakhernskoye-Kuzminki Estate Museum.
