April Race

People fond of running will take their mark at the first race of the season on 9 April. On this day, they will run the five-kilometre April Race round Luzhniki.

The race route will take place in the area around the Olympic complex and run along Novoluzhnetsky Proyezd and Luzhnetskaya Embankment. Runners will have the opportunity to both resume training and feast their eyes on the magnificent views of the Moscow City Business Centre, Vorobyovskaya Embankment and the buildings of Moscow University and the Grand Sports Arena in Luzhniki.

This season the sporting event changed its name from First Run to April Run. Whereas in 2013 the race attracted 784 people, this year the organisers expect 6,000 people to take part, including famous tennis player and public figure Vera Zvonaryova.
