The sculptural composition "Rostokinsky Street Cleaner" is located in Rostokino District (the northeast administrative district of Moscow). In this region people decided to express their gratitude for street cleaners' work in a special way. The sculpture is installed on the hill near Rostokinsky aqueduct, not far from the crossing of Bazhova and Malahitovaya streets. The idea to create such a monument belongs to the head of the district - Pavel Povolotsky. And it was realized by the members of the Moscow Union of Artists - Vladimir Lepeshov and Andrew Aseryants. The 3 meter high sculpture is made out of iron. It's not hard to recognize a street cleaner in it: a broom in his hands, an apron over his clothes. His curls, coming out from under his baseball cap, consist of different screws and bolts.
Even though the monument is a generalized character, it still has a prototype. It's a real street cleaner Vitaly Kollegin, who has been working in the Wilhelm Pik street for 20 years. He even helped the sculptors to collect rusty scrap metal for the monument.
