This fountain-rotunda situated on the Nikitsky Gate square in a small public garden was built in honor of the wedding of Alexander Pushkin and Natalia Goncharova. The fountain is located in front of the church, where the wedding took place. The monument was unveiled on the 6th of June 1999 in the program of the celebrating of the 200th anniversary of Pushkin’s birth.
Another peculiarity of the fountain is that the water in it is clear tap water. There are four streams in the system with water which is clear enough to wash your face.
