The abandoned Young Pioneer camps of the Soviet Union are one of the most depressing places I've ever been to. Camps were destroyed to such an extent, which can be compared to destruction of the Jewish shops in Nazi Germany. Unfortunately, the country was busy with more "important" probems than happy vacation of children. So the process of young camps' disappearance became irreversible.
I was lucky to attend two of such Pioneer camps in my carefree childhood. I remember those happy days with great joy. It was hard to know that those two camps were also destroyed like the camp in this post. May be, I'll go there some day and the ruins will remind me some moments of my childhood.
Address: Ramensky Region, village Kapustino, camp "Jubileyny".
1. The central building of the camp. You can see a round dining hall on the photo. The roof is completely destroyed now: Not much has remained from the camp now. Everything is broken and thieved, but it's OK as modern young generation is under control of alcohol and online games.
