Until July 29, you have an opportunity to see one of the most unusual ventures on the Moscow cultural scene - the exhibition Lexus Нybrid Art 2012. It encompasses more than three thousand square meters at the ARTPLAY Design Center (Nizhnyaya Syromyatnicheskaya, 10), which has already firmly established itself as Moscow’s Chelsea – the hotspot for contemporary art in the city. Lexus Hybrid Art presents the best Russian and international artworks at the crossroads of disciplines, especially technology-based pieces.
For the first time in its history, Lexus Hybrid Art features works by Russian artists – the three Lexus Grant winners, whose names were announced in early June. Also for the first time, the Lexus Hybrid Art program is based on the principle of synergy: an intense schedule of tours, lectures, master classes and performances are complemented by regular musical events, DJ sets and a special series of pre-parties. The Lexus Hybrid Art space comes alive with multimedia: visitors want to come to the exhibition again and again – first, because of the unusual program; second, thanks to the project’s unprecedented schedule. For nearly two weeks of the show’s run, ARTPLAY doesn't close its doors earlier than midnight, and on Fridays and Saturdays guest can to enjoy the exhibition space until three a.m., thus creating a healthy museum alternative to traditional nightlife. ARTPLAY pulses with a wonderful, alternative vibe – the energy of collaborative creative action in a place where the digital meets the analog, robots encounter humans, and the unidentified present collides with an unimaginable future.
The show’s credo (as well as that of each micro- and macro-event at Lexus Hybrid Art) is progressive luxury, which consists of four components: innovation, personal reward, social responsibility and prestige. These same qualities imbue everything Lexus does, whether it’s the latest generation of cars or the first regular exhibition of hybrid art in Russia.
