In May 2010, a protracted opening of the metro station Dostoevskaya drew a wide response in the public. Everybody was amazed with the naturalism and unusual style of the mosaic paintings.
On the walls of the station, you can see different scenes illustrating four novels by the famous Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky: "Crime and Punishment", "The Idiot", "The Brothers Karamazov" and "Demons", including scenes of violence, such as the murder of the old woman and Lizaveta, Svidrigaylov's suicide in "Crime and Punishment", Nastasya Fillipovna's murder in "The Idiot", Shatov's murder and Stavrogin's suicide in "Demons".
