Velonotte is an annual event where people spend the night on bicycles exploring the city’s monuments, historical buildings and secret places. This year it will take place in Moscow on July 4.

The first Velonotte (from Italian bike+night) took place in Moscow in 2007. Organized by a team headed by Sergey Nikitin, a renowned Moscow scholar of urban history, Velonotte has become an annual event where people spend the night on bicycles exploring the city’s monuments, historical buildings and secret places. Velonotte has been held in Rome,St. Petersburg, New York, Kazan, London and Istanbul.

This year the event is returning to Moscow. The Velonotte will be dedicated to the jubilee of Moscow Metro and to the people who constructed it. Leading historians of Moscow and Russian culture will provide commentary during the trip, which will be broadcast on Mayak FM radio station. To participate, online registration is required.
