Opening of the Spasskaya Tower Festival at VDNH

On Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. Russia's main exhibition space will host the start of the grand International Military Music Festival Spasskaya Tower 2016.

Guests of VDNH will witness a magnificent spectacle: the best military orchestras of the world performing a ceremonial parade along the central avenue of VDNH.

The annual parade organized as part of the Spasskaya Tower Festival on Tverskaya street in Moscow this year will be conducted on vibrant Central avenue of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy starting from the rocket fountain to the arc of the main entrance.

The best military and folk music groups from various countries will gather at VDNH to demonstrate their virtuosic masterly performance, original music instruments, and magnificent costumes and jackets. The music parade will herald the start of all the events planned under the largest military music festival in Russia to be held at different sites throughout the capital city.

More than a thousand musicians will take part in the parade. The following is a list of all the groups participating in this year's festival: Tirol Royal Rifle Orchestra (Austria), United Orchestra of the Air and Naval Forces (Greece), Celtic Orchestra of Bagpipes and Drums (European Union), Orchestra of the Carabineer Corps (Italy), Silent Drill Platoon and the Central Military Orchestra of Armed Forces (Mongolia), Police Orchestra (Singapore), Wind Orchestra and Majorette Group (Slovenia), Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense (Russia), Military Exemplary Orchestra of the Honor Guard (Russia), Silent Drill Team and the Orchestra of the 154th Separate Commandant Preobrazhensky Regiment (Russia), Silent Drill Team and Exemplary Orchestra of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Suvorov Military School Student Orchestra under the Moscow Military Music School (Russia), Orchestra of the Israeli Defense Forces, Kremlin Horse Riding School (Russia), Silent Drill Team and Orchestra of the Presidential Regiment Aybyn (Kazakhstan), Folk Music Group Ava Odori (Japan), United Military Orchestra of the National Guard of the Russian Federation (Russia), International Team of the Highland Fling Performers, Exemplary Orchestra of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Orchestra of Military Students of the Military Institute (military capellmeisters) (Russia), Presidential Orchestra of the Commandant's Service of the Moscow Kremlin (Russia), Special Guard Troop of the President's Regiment (Russia), Cavalry Escort of Honor of the President's Regiment (Russia), N. Rimsky-Korsakov Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra under the Naval Fleet of Russia.
